Recently, at the site of Jinhua Zhixin Technology Co., Ltd.’s project in Bailongqiao Town, Wucheng District—an annual output of 1 million sets of automotive stamping and welding parts—a brand-new factory building has begun to take shape.

Outside the workshop, foundation construction is in full swing; inside, rows of intelligent equipment are neatly arranged. One stamping production line and two welding assembly lines have completed commissioning, and their products have passed Leapmotor’s acceptance, entering the trial production and small-batch sample delivery stage. “To meet the need for early production, since September this year we have been installing and commissioning equipment while construction continues. All equipment is expected to be installed by March next year,” said Yuan Zheng, project manager.

It is understood that the project covers an area of 104.24 mu (about 6.95 hectares), with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan. It is invested and built by Chongqing Zhixin Industrial Co., Ltd., the parent company of Jinhua Zhixin Technology Co., Ltd. The plan includes a stamping workshop, welding workshop, finished-product warehouse, laboratory, etc. Overall, 60% of the project’s construction work has been completed. At the site, workers are adjusting the precision of equipment parts and closely monitoring robot operations to ensure product quality meets standards. “The overall automation rate of our production lines exceeds 95%. The welding process is entirely carried out by robots, using a low-spatter welding process, which produces fewer sparks during operation and makes production safer,” Yuan Zheng said. The production equipment will also be equipped with a visual sensing system. If a part is missing during assembly, the equipment will immediately give an alarm, minimizing human error as much as possible.

Chongqing Zhixin Industrial Co., Ltd. is an important R&D and manufacturing enterprise in China’s automotive body-in-white sheet-metal stamping and welding parts field, and a major supplier of stamping parts to Leapmotor. According to relevant company executives, choosing to locate the project in Wucheng is both a strategic layout for the company to expand production capacity and provide nearby supporting supply, and also benefits from Wucheng’s locational advantages and high-quality business environment. It is reported that it took only one month from land acquisition to project database entry, 83% shorter than the agreed time. The project mainly produces body roof panels, bumper beams, door rings, and other auto parts. It will cooperate with automakers such as Leapmotor and Geely, focusing on the new energy vehicle market. After the project is fully completed and put into production, the planned annual output will reach 1 million sets, injecting new momentum into Wucheng District’s new energy vehicle and parts industry.

As of now, the district has 47 industrial enterprises above designated size in the new energy vehicle and parts industry. In recent years, Wucheng District has anchored the new energy vehicle and parts industry as a pillar industry.
